Running time: 5m 23s |
We have not been idle.
We have attended and put our point of view at every area forum in January.
Read the News page and the Must Read page.
Atone of the 'con'sultation meeting at Furness school the meeting was surprised by pop up tents with 'say no to academy' painted on them.

Not only that, two passing santas arrived to give presents - making Councillor James Powney feel very uncomfortable!

Herbert Bukari, Brent Teachers Association President tells ARK and the Council what we think of their proposed plans.

We continue our campaign. An example is a demo outside Brent Town Hall when the next stage of the proposed academy was being rubber stamped at a chaotic council meetin
A hardy group of anti academy supporters turned up at the Evening Standard debate where Arki Busson was speaking in December.
We managed to make our voices heard before being thrown out. Also, most of the audience received a leaflet outlining the real ARK credentials.

'Flashcamping' -
Tent City goes to the Town Hall!!
At 4:00am on Saturday 3rd November the Tent City protesters took their protest to a piece of land right opposite Brent Town Hall.
Occupiers relax with a cup of tea after setting up.
We anticipated this being a very short occupation but the authorities seemed reluctant to evict us. No doubt this is because of the adverse publicity they'd receive.
The local media have given us great coverage and more than 400 residents signed the petition during our stay. This flies in the face of what Paul Lorber says about us having given up and having no support.
The first 'flashcamp'.
We are planning further flashcamps in the future. Let us know if you are interested in joining us. The national media are still being a hard nut to crack to publicise our cause but we are determined to win this battle. The latest show of support from the community has given us new heart. (The donated wine from a local resident also warmed our hearts!)
What you can do:
Write to Paul Lorber, LibDem Leader, C/o Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middx
